“Hatarakuizu”
2023
In a country where overwork is the norm and work-life balance remains a struggle, PERSOL set out to challenge the status quo.
As a company dedicated to helping people navigate their careers, PERSOL launched “Hatarakuizu” (Work Quiz) on April 8, 2023—a participatory quiz platform designed to get Japan thinking differently about work.
Featuring 100 thought-provoking questions and 100 hand-drawn illustrations, the campaign invited the public to pause, reflect, and reimagine the meaning of “work.” The conversation extended beyond digital, with the illustrations taking over major train stations across Tokyo, turning daily commutes into moments of insight.
Additionally, 12 major companies and three prominent figures: MLB pitcher Kenta Maeda, astronaut Soichi Noguchi, and renowned film subtitler and interpreter Natsuko Toda, joined the project, contributing original quiz questions and sharing their responses. Participating companies included Suntory, ZOZO, Mori Building, and LINE/Yahoo, and many more.
The goal? To spark curiosity, start conversations, and help reshape the future of work in Japan, one question at a time.
